Song: Talking to The Moon

This song is vocal heavy, so the vocals are the main element and have the most presence. The piano is the only instrument that is playing the harmony and chords, so it has almost as much presence as the vocals.

I wanted to create a more dynamic listening experience, so I incorporated a “surround sound” effect during the second half of the song. During the bridge, I panned the vocal’s “Ahhh”s to give it more depth so it wouldn’t sound as stale.

The EQ plugins have LPF and HPF to minimize bleed from other unwanted elements. The gain in the mid to high frequency range is boosted to give the tracks more presence.

I applied subtle reverb to the vocals to give it more character and sense of space to the mix. I also added a compressor to make the vocals more consistent.
